I'm not sure there, but in general, the 50/2 Zuiko has gotten fabulous test
results, better even than the Leica M 50/2 Summicron, one of the best 50's ever
made.

My 50/2 produces great images, but I haven't done any subjective tests against
a 50/1.8 Zuiko, which would be its closest Olympus competition. You can't go
wrong with either lens.

Skip,

Are you saying then that the 50/2 macro does not perform as well at
infinity,[being a macro] or no better/no worse then any non macro at
infinity?

Yes, Macro lenses are still 50mm lenses with all their general FOV and
perspective characteristics. However they are usually designed and
corrected
for closeup performance, whereas most normal lenses are corrected for
optimum
performance at infinity. Macro lenses achieve their close focusing ability
with
longer helicoid extensions than standard lenses. These two characteristics
drive the price up.
