For sure!  I bought my fist in the late 1960's.  Operated very smoothly.
I had to replace it due to a loss around 1980.  I purchased the
replacement sight unseen and was rudely awakened by the shotty
construction.  I presently have a baby black that is half way back to
the original workmanship.  But it looks like it will be replaced by a
used Gitzo G 226 I just happened onto.
