Excuse my ignorance!

What is ADITL? This is the second time I have seen this acronym. Is it an
acronym?

I must be a mediocre Zuik then; I have only one of them (50/1.8 SC). Does
also having a 50/1.2 make up for not having more than one 50/1.8?

Not much more on the used market is the 50/1.4 which you might consider
also. Sometimes you can find a OM-1n and 50/1.4 combination in excellent
condition. If you go the 50/1.8 look for one of the newer MC versions. My
recommendation is to have a 50mm prime. Mine are bolted onto the camera
body 900f the time. All the other lenses only get used when it is not
possible or inappropriate to use the 50mm.

Immediate fringe benefit of having a 50mm prime: you can participate in
the ADITL during the Autumnal Equinox.

As to a good inexpensive zoom? The original posting mentioned the 75-150/4
which is a good lens for the going inexpensive "street prices." I have
used one in the past by itself and with a 2x teleconverter to get 300/8 out
of it. Keep in mind this combination will lose depth of field control, the
viewfinder will be a bit dim and you will need *good* lighting for this to
work. Some constraints, but not impossible.

The 75-150 is more suited for the "nature" shots than for landscape/scenic
which would normally use a wide angle. There are several 35-70mm zooms
(f/3.6, f/4 and f/3.5~4.5??) but I have no experience with them. More
expensive is the 35-105/3.5~4.5 which I do have and it is a very nice lens
although I wish it were a stop faster. Goes from a moderate wide angle to
a good length for portraiture.
