Pretty bad on my old OM-10. The extender cured the problem. Then I made a
lead to take the flash off camera.

Somebody posted that the flash to lens distance should bew greater than 1/20
lens to subject distance to avoid red eye (I think it was Lee. Please
correct me if I"ve got it wrong again).
