It woke both of us up, as well as the dog. It went on for longer than
normal. There seems to be two varieties of aftershocks. There's the
bumps--kinda like driving over rumble strips as you approach an
intersection; and there are the side-to-side movements. The more
aggressive ones have both.

I got over to the office building for the first time since the quake.
The building looks like it was trying to rip itself in two--right
across the middle from one side to the other. All the pipes
(sprinklers, water and sewer) were severed at that point. So, it's
also a biohazard. They'll be gutting the place. Sad thing is that it's
a brand new remodel as we've only been in there for two years. I'm
sure some structural engineers will be looking it all over to figure
out why it failed the way it did.

My boss's house had a lot of structural/foundation damage. One side
dropped down about a half a foot.

Otherwise, we're getting back to normal. Road and bridge repairs are
happening quickly. Stores are restocked. Life is good.

Except for the aftershocks.
