Even in our hick town in the center of fly-over country, there is a bank that
offers foreign currency. It would seem sure that they would have the polymer
notes and would exchange. Checkk around where you live.
Tried it. It's a special transaction to request foreign currency
exchange here. That's how Robin bought the pounds. However they don't
want to hassle with people bringing in foreign currency. I've given up
even doing loonies and we live 4mi from the border! Besides, these bills
are no longer legal tender. At least as of next week.
I'm thinking that we'll just go to the Nat'l Bk of Scotland in Edinburgh
and see.
