Way back pre sick, we went to Point Reyes for a day excursion.

Coastal summer weather can be, well, interesting there. Reports were that it was heavily foggy on the ocean side, probably 55° F, and windy.

The point is about 14 miles long, separated from the mainland by long, narrow Tomales Bay, AKA, San Andreas Fault. Going north, the point gets progressively narrower and lower in elevation, so the marine layer crosses first at the far end.

At Chicken Ranch Beach, it was in the 80s, with only a tiny breeze.

Seven miles North, Hog & Duck Islands were in the wind and blowing fog. Distance and surface effects made for interesting images. <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=22233>
