That's not surprising. We should soon see a reverse flow of illegal
immigrants across the border. Our county sheriff, Joe Arpaio, lost his
re-election bid, but I can see him being appointed as the head of ICE, which I
would not object to in the slightest. I would even encourage it.
The criminals that arrive illegally from Mexico have been giving the
Hispanic community a very serious black eye, and the Feds have been reluctant
to apprehend them. They've done everything they can to restrain Arpaio from
doing so, even filing criminal charges against him. That may have been a
purely political move to appease the Hispanic community.
We also defeated our recreational marijuana initiative, which was a good
thing. It had a provision that would prevent testing for THC in DUI pullovers.
We legalized medical marijuana years ago, which was a good thing as it is
effective in relieving chronic pain. But the VA can not prescribe it as they
come under federal jurisdiction.
