I must say that I like what I see as to its form in general from what I see
on the web, but no one will live long enough to see on in person where I
live. I don't think Olympus cares about brick and motor stores at all, and
here, the bad taste from the infamous OM10 problems are still remembered.In
any event, there is one little nagging thing that bothers me and I find
makes the off putting overwhelming. It's the little dial on the front with
all the silly hipster modes. To me it makes the camera look like a toy. I
can't believe that a camera with that feature won't be lacking in other
areas. It to me is yet another example of how the camera companies are run
by engineers and marketers, not photographers. My heart cries out for a
digital OM4.

I handled one yesterday, albeit only briefly. My initial impression was
favourable, but it didn't take me long to draw conclusions not for removed
from yours, Moose, and those you refer to, even though I did not have them
in mind.
Size - feels smaller than the XPro-1
Controls - the antithesis of the Xpro-1, with control wheels aplenty, but
the most prominent (Scene modes and PASM) are the least useful
Ergonomics - yes, I too found the front control wheel sharp, and in the
wrong place. And more controls on the back panel than there was room for.
And don't try to flip out the articulated screen if you have closely
manicured finger nails. Outside in the cold? Forget about it.
EVF - nice to see one in 4:3 format, a change from the XPro-1 5:3, but not
nearly enough to sway me.
Disappointed.

II with only two changes I can see.
1. A 20 MP sensor. That may sound like a big increase, but it's not. The
increase in linear resolution is around 12%,
just around the point where careful pixel peeping MIGHT show a tiny bit more

I've read so far can't find any increase for sure, but they are limited to
Viewer 3 so far.
2a. They have moved all the silly (to me) "creative" and scene modes to a
separate dial on the front, which means it's
finally possible to access all four Custom Settings sets directly from the
Mode dial. A real improvement - except ...
2b. With the add-on grip, Robin Wong finds his finger being attacked by the
aggressive knurling on this front knob.

And what some may see as a step back. Although necessitated by the idea of
recreating something visually rather like the
original Pen-F(T), there is no front grip. that means additional shekels,
size and weight for those who need a grip.
From the pics, it seems that the add-on grip isn't very deep, nor very
tall. Folks like AG will need to hold one to see ...
And, as far as I can tell, the HR mode isn't any faster than on the E-M5 II,
no 1/60 sec. HR shooting. Not absolutely
sure, but Oly would trumpet it, and no reviews say anything as yet.
