Not sure, but I think I grunted once or twice at the boring pictures. hehehe

Two teenage daughters and a terribly underpaid spouse. Of course I'm cheap.
I'm getting a part-time job just to see if I can earn some play money.
(driving a van hauling railroad crews around).

I would suggest that the turning point is the new set of sensors from Sony
in the past two years or so. The original EM-5 was the first 4/3 or m4/3
camera since the E-1 that really had colors, skintones and recoverable
shadows that I like. The EM-1 improved on it even more. The EM-5 Mk2 looks
to be even better. There is just something about the colors that are
popping right.

What is suprising is that the 60D's stable-mate, the 7D, is a completely
different animal in regards to the files.

When working out to the 200mm (35mm equivalent) focal length, my experience
with stabilization (Minolta, Canon, Pana-Leica, Olympus) is that it's
really good down to 1/4 second or so. It doesn't matter what that six stop
thing is, it's just that it works well for me down to 1/4 of a second and
then it's a crapshoot after that. The Minolta A1 really did have about the
nicest stabilization I've used in any camera as it had a very wide coverage
of shift and wouldn't recenter obnoxiously. The Pana-Leica lens is REALLY
bad in that regard. Most of the earlier generations of Canon lenses were
pretty bad too. The Olympus stabilization has added a couple of axis that
makes it sooooo nice.

Stabilization works very well for me in that normal-wide to normal-tele
range. that's fine and dandy, but where it is a complete game-changer for
me is with my super-tele sun/moon shots. I'm using 300mm lenses handheld or
on a monopod.

I have no problem with you not liking the E-1. We're different in different
ways.
