This is the Maricopa County flood zone map

If you live in any of the color coded areas you are in some sort of
flood zone. I note a fair number of houses inside the blue (AE) zone
south of Southern Ave. That's a 100 year flood plain. Anybody
purchasing property in that are would likely have required flood
insurance to get a mortgage.
