It makes no sense to start with LR3 when LR4 is imminent, and it uses a
different catalog format - you might as well start in the LR4 format.
Trouble is, how soon is "imminent". So I would likely do as you, use the
beta in the meantime. Fingers crossed!

Hi Bob,

Thank you. I will have to see if I can figure out where to set those
preferences. As well as learning some new software, I also did a complete
system switch from PC to MAC, and am dealing with that learning curve along
with the new software. Things take just a little longer right now.

Currently, I have 18 days left on my LR3 trial. After which, I will most
likely be downloading the LR4 Beta, and trying it out, mostly stalling to
see if we can figure out when LR4 will be releases. I'd hate to purchase
LR3, and be stuck having to purchase the upgrade to LR4 so quickly after the
purchase.

The reviews I've heard from colleagues and friends who are trying it, is
that they love it. With the exception that the Beta is very slow.

Absolutely marvelous. I'm thinking by the time LR 4 hits, which has a soft
proofing feature, I may be able to give Windows and Qimage the old heave ho!
and free up more space in the studio for that Epson 7900 I'm drooling over.
