[OM] qusion re EXTENSION TUBE 65-116mm

I have just bought one of these from eb*y and saw this comment. I know I 
should have checked here first but I didn't and I don't remember anyone 
mentioning this, is this statement  correct or have I just bought a 
useless item

"note the camera locking pin has been disabled (common because they are 
a pain to use as the mount obscures it)"
