Likewise I have no desire to become satnav dependent. For me the journey can
be just as important as the destination and I have no desire to adopt the
tunnel vision of many modern travellers who have been everywhere, seen
nothing and would be permanently lost if the batteries gave out. As I said I
am getting the phone (not new) and I just want to know that the da*n feature
works on it. (At little cost to me)

accursed things (satnavs).
They are jolly useful in aircraft flying fast, in bombs flying down and for
space travel (I assume), but for normal road travel there is nothing like
doing a bit of route study and writing down the route before setting off.
My sister-in-law has no clue where she is, ever!
