Interesting article.  I like some of Ken's articles.  In-camera JPEGs
aren't my thing, but I still enjoy reading his site.  One thing to
note is that some of the differences he's pointing out have to do with
the AA filters being used in those particular cameras.  The D200 has a
stronger AA filter than the 5D, which has a very weak one.  See here

the D200 AA filter has on the detail recorded by that camera.  The AA
filter difference also appears to give the 5D a slight advantage in
low ISO detail over the Nikon D3.

None of that takes away from Ken's point though.  Just as is the case
with film, larger sensors will give greater detail at equal output
sizes when other factors such as lens quality are similar.  The detail
from the latest digital medium format cameras/backs is pretty amazing.
