I don't believe it either but the schedule of replacement every two year on
its own is enough to give me pause. My upgrading flows with the schools as I
have to connect via their network, I get a little bit of leeway as I am
married to the CIO :) .
I assume you have ready Douglas Coupland's Microserfs? I love the sections
on shipping products and the indestructible awards handed out for shipping
on time regardless of readiness! I am sure you are completely right that the
Vista replacement will be late just like everything else and/or subject to
shipping prior to really being ready.
I didn't mean to open this particular can of worms by asking the original
question regarding Studio and Vista (thanks to Graeme for your answer to
it). Thanks again to all for your perspectives on this tricky subject.

How late was Vista from original targeted release date?
When did MS last deliver an OS upgrade anywhere near on time?
Three years, minimum, likely more.
