I've been following that and several other related threads over in
APUG. Overall, I'm comfortable with the current situation. Kodak has
introduced an upgrade to an already outstanding film and has made it
OBVIOUSLY better as a front-end to digitization.

Ilford has covered the B&W category very well and there are enough
B&W arteests around to keep them rolling for a while.

Fuji is probably the loose cannon in the bunch as their bestest stuff
is E6. I honestly don't see E6 hanging around much longer. My guess
is that within 24 months commercial E6 processing will be relegated
to a handful of labs around the world. I should check out their
latest/greatest pro print films, but I'm settled in with Portra and
if Kodak kills that I probably will just as well hang the film thing
up.

Now, I'm not sure what it's going to take to keep Kodak in business.
I can smell a "file chapter xxx" coming up in the next 18 months.

AG
