Sharpening should be the very last step you do before printing and 
should be done to a file that has been cropped and specifically resized 
for that print size.  If you are sending images to a lab you should not 
do anything other than cropping and some local contrast enhancement. 
Leave the resizing and sharpening to the lab.  They have much better 
software than we do.
