The route I took included root 66 ...?

With Stanford next door I wouldn't root for the Bears even if the Vols
routed or rooted them.

But that is only because "over there" you pronounce "route" (as in "Route
66") the wrong way.  If you pronounced it (as we do "over here") to rhyme
with "root" it would be a whole lot more better.

But on the other hand, if AndrewF were here, I think he would be very
entertained by the thought of a headline: 

"Vols root Bears in lopsided win"

Of all the things not to do to a bear, rooting it must be pretty near top of
the list - according to most Australians I have encountered ;-)
