Piers,
Could be, but my only experience has been with PS Elements 4.0
which did not require activation. Since PSE is for "amateurs", Adobe may
be less worried about us violating their user agreement.

Is that so for versions CS and CS2, Charlie?

I had understood that the newer versions of PS do require "activation"
*but*
allow for de-activation to (for example) transfer the program to a new
PC in
your ownership, *and* allow two activations per six-month period.

That would explain your success so far, but would suggest you might have
problems next time - better get Wayman Jr to de-activate his original
installation.

See www.adobe.com/activation - choose option "Adobe Photoshop CS for
Windows"

.... and listen out for the helicopters :-)

Since registration is not required for the program to work (unlike MS
Office) it is probably no big deal.
