When I first joined this mailing list, I posted copies of a number of Zuiko
reviews that had appeared in the UK photographic press. One was for the
50mm f1.8, another for the 50mm f2 macro. Those particular reviews had
appeared in "Practical Photography", who at that time (1991) took MTF
measurements of lenses that they tested. If you want to see the full review
as published, see my posts dated 13/06/2002 for the f1.8, and 14/06/2002 for
the f2. But if you just want the MTF results, here they are.

MTF % values for centre and edge (edge in parenthesis)
(the spatial frequency measured was not specified):

50mm f1.8
------------
f1.8: 40% (24%)
f2.8: 59% (38%)
f4: 68% (55%)
f5.6: 75% (62%)
f8: 79% (69%)
f11: 71% (65%)
f16: 58% (52%)

50mm f2
---------
f2: 50% (48%)
f2.8: 58% (55%)
f4: 75% (70%)
f5.6: 81% (78%)
f8: 82% (75%)
f11: 78% (72%)
f16: 72% (71%)
