Several years ago I bought a camera on EB*Y and it didn't work. I requested
a refund which was received after I returned the camera. A few weeks later a
sheriff phoned me about the transaction. It seems that a young man working
in a camera store was secretly selling store stock and pocketing the money.
The sheriff and I were both amazed that I got the refund. I suppose the kid
didn't want to attract negative attention.

Oh, I don't know. Someone I know had a buyer get a refund from Playpal
for something that was merely delayed in the post. The refund was
debited and sent after the lens arrived and could not be reversed,
despite the fact that he had proof of delivery. Strangely, the buyer
went very quiet, now being the proud owner of a free and fairly
expensive lens (over US$500). Of course, the seller was a furriner so
that may have been a factor. They charge us more and screw us harder.
