I checked my 55 f1.2 more carefully, and with a little imagination

yellowing.

You, Dapoz and others own the lenses. Mark's posted pix is my only reference. Suffice to say that those with the lens seem to concur re the color intensity being proportional to the thickness of a convex lens at any point in the gradient. Next big question in relation to potential resuscitation is whether the color change is a direct consequence of chemical change characteristic of rare earths or confined solely to radiation induced alterations? The former might be amenable to partial resolution. My bet gives even odds and defers to the real answer......

Now for my question: my impression over the years is that of marginal professional respect for the Z. 75-150. Was pleasantly surprised to read your comment, albeit brief. This lens covers the heart of a 'working range' for many. Is that your assessment? Better lens for this general range?
Thanks
Bill
