one of the websites i visit has been doing a "passaround" lately, something
that came across as a brilliant idea. in a nutshell, people put up a piece
of equipment to swap around. say i have a hot new commodity, and put it up.
first 5 or so responses are "in" and each person has it for a week, passes
it to the next, etc. wider exposure to the item at hand in a closely
defined group, esp to those that haven't seen or used it before.
so would something like this work on the OM list lens wise? nothing big
dollar, mind (no 350/2.8 or 250/2 zuiks), but the idea seems sound esp
since one tends not to use one's entire arsenal of gear at any given time.
and because i initiated the idea, i'd be willing to put up a few lenses. no
i didn't say let's start it now, but if you folks receive proposition well,
i wouldn't mind starting it off. or modify it so that i would volunteer to
host a list of "wants" and "willing to send" lists, and then two people
swap it out. say someone had a 35-70/4 and wanted to try the macro, then
she/he and i would swap. etc.
a logistics nightmare or a "why didn't we think of this before"?
fwiw, i'd be happy to put up the following at the moment (other stuff will
likely get use for either a canada or england trip)

50/1.4 mc zuik
T-mount
so what say you? ideas, suggestions, flames, etc all welcome. or write me
