You could also consider a Kiron 28-210 f3.8-5.6 macro. Admittedly
large but I can vouch it is a great performer having recently
scanned some slides taken with one.

Vivitar Series 1 70-210, f 3.5 (the one with 67 mm threads--is seems
the 67 mm model is looked upon more favorably by ebayers.)
As to other zooms...well, since you guys don't seem too shy about
