There are several popular Photoshop plug-ins for emulating Kodak
High Speed Infrared with digital images -- not quite right, of
course, since they use visible red instead of IR as the starting
point, but they add in grain and halation, make blue skies black,
etc.  The images do have much the same mood as real HIE, but the
red vs. IR distinction does make it easy to tell real IR from
digital emulation.
