If you are complaining about prices on UK eBay, you should consider the
background. Prices for new photographic equipment in the UK (and in Europe
generally) have always been higher than in the US, and the 17.5% VAT (sales
tax; actually 25 0n Denmark) is considerably higher than most US sales tax
rates. Customs duty into the UK has traditionally been significantly higher
than US duties also. The second-hand (e.g. eBay) prices relate to the new
price in the UK, so they are bound to be higher than US eBay prices.

Remember also, that when we in Europe buy things on US eBay, the tax and
duties that we have to pay on the used lenses, etc. brings the price up to
or above UK eBay prices.

Thus UK eBay prices, to a European buyer, are often not unreasonable.
