I just ran a quick check at 48bit, 4000 dpi, no dust removal.

50 seconds.  File size 36,352,876 !!!  I have no idea of why my file size is
1/2 yours  .. maybe Vuescan.  We would both have to use Vuescan to compare
the results accurately.
