That is true, but with advances in a computer system mean that people can
run better games, better apps, etc. What does a better digital camera give
the average consumer. My Olympus 2100UZ prints 4x6 and 5x7s AS GOOD as the
D1 I mentioned; and I only have 2.1 megapixels. Maybe megapixels is a big
marketing ploy. But does the average consumer really need 5 megapixels?

As has been stated previously by others, the precedent is already somewhat
established in the PC industry. People seem 'willing' to completely replace

EXPENSIVE computers on a fairly regular basis in order to avoid
obsolescence, or even remain viable. I'm not saying I like it (far from
it), it's just that it's sort of a beach-head that's already won...

From: William Clark Sorry for the "mini-rant", but will the average consumer

put up with not being able to get their stuff fixed? Look how easy it is
for us to get our OM stuff repaired. If consumers are forced to keep
buying, it will get expensive, and, perhaps, there may be a return to film.

Any thoughts?
