Cool photos John. On my laptop they look quite hardish (contrasty) even
without the Tri-X. Nice mix of deep shadows and almost overlightened
subjects. The girl almost catching the bouqet is very good timing.
Anticipates the whole ritual behind marriages and the future hopes and
expectations they symbolize.
Excuse my english, but what is a (non-kitchen) "potato masher", and what
does "the PJ look" mean?
Henrik
Thanks . . . I had fun doing them with a 45 year old rangefinder. There's
more detail in the negatives than the prints which are contrasty. After
seeing the prints, I looked at the negatives using a loupe and a light
table. Any reprints from the negatives will be done by a pro image house
on lower contrast paper.
Sorry about the jargon . . . a lapse in remembering this is an
international list. A "potato masher" is a flash handle, e.g., a BG-2 with
a T-20 or T-32, or a T-45. PJ = Photo Journalist (newspaper or news
magazine photographer).
