I bought mine from a camera fair in Wolverhampton about a year ago for
around £70.00, including the ball head, which I thought was a good deal at
the time.

I have come to the conclusion that the best way to carry it for any
distance, in the absence of a case, is over one shoulder with the legs
splayed. The tripod's that is, not mine:-). This alarmed one guy (ex army),
who on seeing me in the distance thought I was carrying a bren gun.

In the Sunday Telegraph this week there is an ad for a printer cartridge
refill system, claiming you can save up to 800f your print costs, from a
company called Universal Inkjet System in Southampton. Has anyone tried this
or something similar?

According to the ad, you get replacement ink, injector, plug extractor and
replacement plugs.

Last time I tried to economise on ink for the Epson 750 I had disastrous
results, the colours going haywire until I replaced the Jessops cartridge
with an Epson one.

Seeing the recent posts about defragging reminded me of similar problems on
my PC running Windows 98. Eventually through task manager, I shut down all
the programmes running (as shown by the icons in the bottom right of the
screen) and the PC defragged without any problem.

Things like AV software and Adaptec CD Creator seemed to be the main
culprits.
