I see several possible solutions for you--err, your "hypothetical person."
1)Wake up and look around: who lives on the beach in SoCal and takes
pictures??? 2)Be a wild man and liberate the Oly's from their hermetically
sealed vault, buy a Nat'l Geo tee shirt and a photog's vest, and specialize
in tasteful beach bunny photos (is that an oxymoron?). 3)Move to Nebraska.
