[OM] TTL metering with an OM2n

Subject: [OM] TTL metering with an OM2n

I have been experimenting with meter readings using a 50/1.2, 50/1.4,
and a 75/150 on OM2n and OM4T bodies and then checking them with my
LunaSix 3 meter. The test subject was a grey sweat shirt about equal in
hue to an 18 0rey card.

Any lens on the 4T and the Lunasix meter produced identical readings.
Any lens on the 2n produced a reading with one stop less exposure. The
Lunasix reading showed one stop more exposure vis-a-vis the 2n exposure.
The 2n just came to me from a reliable source and I have no doubt that
the meter is correct. Maybe the battery is on the fritz I thought.

I wear glasses. When I pulled my eye back from 2n viewfinder I saw the
meter needle rise even though I had not moved the camera or the grey
sweat shirt. I removed my glasses and moved my head so that my eye was
tight up close to the viewfinder. Voila ......the meter reading then
coincided with that of the 4T and the LunaSix.

QUESTIONS.........is this normal experience with the 2n? I assume that
light was leaking back through the viewfinder into the meter and thus
closing down the aperture by one stop or more.

If this back leakage of light through the viewfinder is a fact of life
with the 2n [it is not with the 4T] does Olympus or anyone else make an
eye cup suitable for someone who wears glasses?

Thanks
