Hi, Tom and all!

Deciding which bag to get is tougher than any equipment purchase decision I
ever made! A few months back, I researched and looked and procrestinated
and decided and then changed my mind dozens of times, but I finally went
with a Lowepro NOVA 4. It's a "small" bag, but it holds tons and tons of
stuff: several bodies, a bunch of lenses, flash equipment and U-NAME -IT!
I bet you could do nicely with a NOVA 2 or 3. Check out Lowepro's website
http://www.lowepro.com/home.htm and I bought it from Henry's in Canada, by
FAR the best prices http://www.henrys.com/
BTW!!!!!!! John H. informs me that my new OM-4Ti is on it's way after a 7
week backorder from Olympus!

Have a good one,
John

I am in search of the perfect camera bag. As you can imagine, with my
buying kits, I own a few, mostly junk. I do own a very nice Tamrac 608 that
I like and use a lot, and it's just right for many things.

What I am looking for now is the 'always carrying it with me so it needs to
be small and fit inside my suitcase and be light and sturdy' bag.

I've wandered through every major camera store in town. Didn't help. More
confused.

So, I thought I'd query the list. Here's my 'specs'.

Needs to hold my fairly standard travel kit:

OM-x (depends on my mood) - possibly a second body too
Wide-angle (assume 21/2, as it's the biggest)
Mid-range zoom (probably assume 35-70/3.5-4.5, but room for the 35-80 is a
plus)
90/2
75-150 (room for the 65-200 is a plus, but I rarely carrying it or the
50-250 due to weight).
T20 or F280

My other requirement is that the depth of the bag (front to back) needs to
be small as I want this to fit inside my rolling carry-on suitcase.

So far, in my quest, I've discovered the:

Tamrac 605 Zoom Traveler 5

http://www.tamrac.com/605.htm

I like this bag, mostly because it is skinny and would fit well. It's
probably still too big.

Tamrac 635 Photo Daypack Convertible

http://www.tamrac.com/635.htm

This is a touch larger than the 605, but has a nice feature that if you
unzip the top it converts to a backpack. I like the idea of throwing it on
my back for a 'walking around'. Bigger than I want, but still appealing.

Domke F5 Little Bit Smaller

More of a traditional bag and a bit too thick, but canvas and really nice.
It's the only Domke I found in town, but I liked it. I can't find a home
page, and the other sites I've found don't show one more along the lines of
what I'm looking for.

Right now, I guess the 635 is 'in the lead', but I'm not sure I'm happy with
that.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Tom
