If you had a choice, would you choose the 85-250 or the 50-250??
I have found both for sale (the 50-250 is higher priced...) and am
trying to decide, albeit quickly.

In Iowa I love to shoot my 85-250/f5. Some days I should simply forget
taking the camera bag because that's all I end up shooting. These are in
situations where I am working on landscapes, usually from country roads
where the zoom is helpful for composition and the range is best suited to
the subject matter, which for me involves finding lines and evidence of
undulation in an otherwise 2-dimensional landscape. Wides are among my
favorites where nature supplies the third dimension (the American West, for
example). The 85-250 has unlocked the treasures of my own country for me.

Among the wides, I like the 28/2.8. It's not that far off from a "normal"
35mm, but it's got a little more attitude.

I like the 90/f2 for *anything*.
