In OM, I only go out to 200/4 and my Series 1 70-210/3.5, and they
are rarely used. In Nikkor, I have 300 & 400mm and they get used even
less. Very specialized, large, (HEAVY) optics get rarely used. But
when you need one...nothing else will do.
