Hello Tobias:

    I think ethics and image manipulation should only be "seriously" addressed
when it comes to journalism. I think that the tools for personal  expression
should be the choice of the individual.

    Photographers have relied on image manipulation for a long time now...this
is during the printing process. Dodging, burning etc. are means for
manipulating images.
    Unfortunately, web graphics do not help much in showing the true nature of
even the simplest of prints( the one from the one hour lab). So I guess some of
us are forced to at least manipulate the images scanned to bring them close to
what our eyes can see in the print we hold.

Nevertheless, I think that manipulation of an image should be stated, not from
an ethical standpoint, but from an imformational one.
