I just got a 50/1.2 for two weeks, first impression - very bright and easy
focusing of course.

No experience on both Leica.

The fall off of the 50/1.2 looks higher than the 55/1.2 wide open. The 50/1.2 is
a little bit sharper at wide open and close distance, both lenses provide quite
acceptable result wide open at normal distance. Close focusing performance is
not so good for both lenses (around 2-3 feet at F4) when compared to 50/3.5 at
3.5. The 55/1.2 has very high resolving power at longer working distance. My
first impression on 50/1.2 also looks very good in resolution for distance
objects.

Color of the 50/1.2 is very good, while the 55/1.2 is a bit warm.

The 50/1.2 has similar resolution when compared with the late version 50/1.4 MC
at close distance. But the 50/1.2 looks sharper for distance objects.
