I have a way of avoiding this kind of risk. I simply don't wind the film
advance lever before I put my camera into the bag. This has become so natural
for me that I just "know" the next time I'm about to take a picture, that I
wind without thinking of it.
(But I must admit, that I sometimes have tried to press the shutter release
button just to find it's stuck. *Then* I realize that the camera is not yet
winded and ready for fire.)
