I think this 'plastic quality' (might be the same thing as Doris'
'flavour') is the same thing as boke (bokeh?). The 90mm f2 macro is
another lens with stupendous boke. I think you can see some of this
quality in my photo of a Bog Orchid in the Olympus Gallery, though
the scan is really a poor representation of the print.
