Yes agreed, all you're doing is trying to measure the correct exposure of
the image that you have composed (the latter process being the "art").

That relies on the operator.  MS (I assume you mean multi-spot) is
something
I've never used;  I will admit that a single spot seems handy - I choose my
meter target(s), and do not wish to rely on the camera's averaging
calculator to work out what *I* wish to expose for.  My favourite item in
most circumstances is the Weston IV incident meter - hardly cutting-edge
technology, but then my photographs aren't either.

Using MS meter is not much different from using a handheld meter, except
the cmera is only measuring reflected light. (Unless you have one of those
special filters, anyone seen one?)

You have to know how to work both, and I am sure all list members can. I
suppose a light meter is a light meter is.....they all do the same job.

PS what about large  full page images in magazines.
