It looks like all cameras now have electronic viewfinders.
It wont be hard for anyone to find in the list archives number of posts by me
expressing disdain for the viewfinder. It started the purchase of the Yashika D
medium format, which allowed me to look with both eyes at the groundglass. I
was very happy with my flip out screen on my Konica-Minolta A200 and now with
my Sony A-65 until last year, when I tried to take a picture of the comet.
Neither the screen, nor the viewfinder were able to display the comet. Granted,
this is a ten year old camera now, but it was innovative for its time and when
light is sufficient, the viewfinder "behaves" like a true optical one.
I plan on pointing my future cameras at the celestial objects more and more
often and would like to start discussion with regards the quality of the
electronic viewfinders all cameras now have and their suitability to
astrophotography.
Thanks in advance.
Best
Boris
