Thanks, Wayne, that is interesting.  

I can’t help musing on the “loss” that each company makes, though: are they 
able to declare losses in different parts of the world while physically making 
money hand over fist.

I have little doubt that Amazon will take over the world (replying also to 
Philippe’s post about AWS) but it’s not a happy prospect in my view.

Although I did consider, for a short while, accepting Amazon’s offer of a 
training course in London to equip me for the digital world after retirement.  
But I think that I can find out what I need elsewhere, when I fancy it :-)
