I first bought an A7 for my Zuiko's and it is heaven for manual focus
lenses compared to the 6D which I had before. I don't use focus peaking as
I found it not very reliable, but magnification of the image in your
viewfinder is 'the killer app'. I find it amazing how much precise focusing
helps the IQ of an image.

It has not a silent shutter however, only an electronic first curtain.
Which you shouldn't use on shutter speeds faster then around 1/2000, as you
get unevenly lit exposures.

I upgraded to an A7r2, primarily because I wanted more pixels, IBIS and a
silent shutter (the A7 II has IBIS but no silent shutter). The silent
shutter has the same limitation, and reduces the dynamic range with one
stop. When coming from Canon, you still have plenty left though ;-).

As mentioned by Moose, I can confirm that the IBIS in the A7r2 is no match
for Olys'. I did no elaborate testing, but my impression is that it helps
somewhere between 1-2 stops, depending on subject distance en focal length.
I understand from forums that IBIS on the A7 II is more effective, since
the pixels are larger.

In the end, using zuikos on a OM sized body is great fun, and even with the
adapter ring it remains a compact package.

So go for it! ;-)
