Here's a "crappy cell phone shot" of the Bogen clamp I mentioned.

Shown with an  old Leitz mini ball head and a Canon G5.

(With the E-1, I use a Bogen (Manfrotto) 308RC ball head)

and using a chair as a mounting spot.

Clamp opens to 2"+ and will also grab thin or round objects.
