Sturdy and light weight are to some degree mutually exclusive. I know what you
mean though and have ben reasonably satisfied with my travel Sirui. They are
all compromises but easy stowage is key with minimal vibration transmission.
Even with a bigger cam weighted with no center column it worked fine. It is
quite good for macro too. Moose wouldn't like the no lever leg design and with
the improved IS of late doesn't use the 'pod as much traveling at all.
