The "slightly larger" than 2x2 is potentially a problem depending on the definition of "slightly". I just measured the slide holder with my caliper. It only has 0.025" clearance over 2" so could be a fit problem. On the other hand, the entire slide holder/film gate fixture slides up and off its vertical support. You could then just tape a slide on the end of the support if necessary.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. The slides are evidently from the 40s or so. I
haven't seen them yet. I'm told they have some sort of border and are slightly
larger than 2x2. We'll see when I get some. I have the Oly slide copier, and an
older Epson scanner. I may be back asking more questions <g>. Thanks again.

Got me... whatever is 3mm thick. B&H doesn't have images of the
products that are available and whatever you get is special order.

Are we talking GePe type plastic frames with thin, wafer thin glass? Or a
sandwich of two 2×2 pieces of glass bound with passe part out tape around
the edges?

Anyhow I decided to check my Epson 700's slide holder and see that it
*might* hold 3mm thick slides. A stack of 3 Kodachrome slides is 3.5mm
thick and it *almost* fits. Removing 0.5mm just might do it.

I just checked my Epson holders. I can do glass mounts with no problem.
