Not a problem. I've taken the guy's iThingy course just out of curiosity about how the Apple side works. He's a very funny and animated guy on his own. He needs no props to keep his class interesting.

Admittedly I haven't tried very hard (like the occasional few seconds you
mentioned) but my results always showed dreadful follow-focussing (on my
Canon p&s and my Nikon SLR). I would just suggest practising and see if you
can get good results. For sure if it's an almost static subject from a
reasonable distance you're starting off with a good chance - although the
resulting video might be a little boring unless you can interject some
movement/zoom/...
good luck

Can you explain? Demo videos I've seen on YouTube show excellent
follow-focus capability on moving subjects. In this case, a presenter in a
classroom, the focus distance will remain nearly constant. What's the
concern?

Focussing is another reason not to do it....

I've never made a video of any sort except a few seconds here and there
after pushing the wrong button on one of my 3 video capable cameras.

A friend who teaches use of iPads and iPhones asked me to help him make
a 10 minute demonstration video of him teaching, said video to be put on
a DVD. I assume my E-M1 is up to the task even if I'm not. One of my
concerns is audio. Lighting is another but think I can handle that part
OK.

Any advice beyond "Don't do it!"?
