Not at all. You can bet that they have live stats so they can compare number of bids to expected number, based on a
complex model. If bids suddenly stop coming through, there will be alarms, flashing red lights and immediate investigation.
I knew this would happen sooner or later. A few years ago the Buy It Now
process was disabled for three days. And lately there have been unnecessary
weekly changes to the saved search items, which has prompted me to set up a
manual system.
I have several saved searches, none have changed on their own, ever.
This is not without redeeming value. Maybe we could get eBay to manage
the Russian government.
