Yeah, I get plenty of those too, but this is different. I used to hang up
whenever there was a pause after I said hello, but then I found I had been
hanging up on people calling long distance via cellphone to my land line.
These recent calls give me the distinct impression that it is a computer
loaded with canned recordings that it will choose from depending on what is
said on the other end of the line. Does anyone have a a good Turing Test I
can borrow? And wouldn't it be a real kick in the pants if the Singularity
began with a telemarketer device.
